Val has a PhD in synthetic medicinal chemistry. She joined Johnson & Johnson’s Noramco as a process chemist and took on roles of increasing responsibility leading global R&D, NPI project management, CMC regulatory affairs, and GMP small scale manufacturing. Over the last several years, as an independent consultant, Val has provided leadership and guidance on CMC programs to biotech and pharmaceutical clients.
Val joined Sterling as Chief Scientific Officer in May 2026 with responsibility for the company’s global technical teams, project management and new product introduction (NPI).
