Brian is responsible for the operational and regulatory aspects of Sterling’s health, safety and environmental performance. This includes overseeing the commercial biological treatment facility and waste management, ensuring appropriate security for the site and managing the facilities management team to deliver high levels of housekeeping and grounds maintenance. Having previously worked at the site when it was ChiRex, as well as having held positions at Pfizer, Piramal Healthcare and Aesica Pharmaceuticals, Brian now has over 20 years across process design engineering and process safety for speciality chemicals.
He has a BEng in Chemical and Process Engineering and a MSc in Clean Technology and Environmental Management. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, is on the CIA RC steering group and works closely within the regional Chemical Industries Association Responsible Care Cells. Brian is also on the steering group for the GSK Supplier Sustainability Initiative and has experience in CoMAH upper tier site management.
