Summary of role Mechanical Dayshift Craftsperson

We are seeking a time-served Mechanical Craftsperson to join our dayshift team based at Dudley, Northumberland UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Central Engineering Biological Treatment Plant and Anaerobic Digestion Plant. You will be experienced in plant maintenance techniques, fault finding, installation work and carrying out small plant modifications. You will uphold Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) principles in your area of responsibility and continually seek opportunities to improve and enhance quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Keep the Biological Waste Treatment plant running effectively
  • Keep the Gas to Grid and Anaerobic Digestion plant running effectively
  • Support and assist the Bioplant Technician
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades and installation 
  • Follow planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Accept and sign off Permit to Work
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and investigations as required
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • comply with all safety, health and environmental requirements

Key Skills and Competencies
  • Be capable of problem solving and conduct diagnostic checks on mechanical and process equipment
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision alone or as part of a multi discipline team
  • Prior experience of Pharma or waste water treatment facilities is an advantage
  • Prior experience of working in Hazardous Areas is advantageous 
  • Individual will be a time-served Mechanical Craftsperson 

We also require candidates to be competent with IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
