Management Accountant

Summary of Role

The Management Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller as part of a finance team of 3. They will be accountable for delivery of timely, accurate and analytical financial information to both Group and the Deeside sites deadlines. The Management Accountant role requires strong accountancy and analytical skills with an ability to check and challenge expenditure in the complex environment of biologic development and production. It’s important to communicate well with other departments within the business enhancing the finance departments status as a business partner.  


Responsibilities
  • Produce Monthly Profit and Loss Accounts and Balance Sheets by department and revenue centres for FC review
  • Ensure all Balance Sheets Control accounts are reconciled at month end
  • Create and post all the required monthly and adhoc journals
  • Create and post bank payments
  • Monitor the daily cash position and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for review
  • Management of debtors balance and ensuring credit control is efficient and effective
  • Management of creditors balance, creating and post bank payments
  • Manage the preparation of the year-end accounts including the completing of the audit file
  • Assist in preparing budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Review and check the monthly payroll from the payroll bureau, including year End and P11D returns
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Produce monthly Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist in the processing of capex requests
  • Assist in the compiling of data for the R&D tax credit claim

  • Demonstrate accountancy skills with experience in a technical business
Education and Experience
  • Experience in commercial finance function
  • Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA
  • VAT returns experience
  • Sage line 50 and SAP experience
Essential Function
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Reviewing all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examining all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Creating systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Check and challenge departmental spending
We also require candidates to be competent with IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Advanced Excel.
