As part of this commitment, Sterling has donated £1,000 to theatre group True Colours, which operates close to our Cramlington site.

True Colours is an inclusive theatre school for young people living in the North East of England. The group was founded in 2014 and works with children who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders and life limiting conditions. The aim of the group is to allow the children to express themselves in a structured, supportive way without fear of judgement or criticism.

The funding from Sterling will go towards the renovation of their new premises, allowing them to increase their offering and support even more young people across the North East.

At True Colours Theatre, children can be involved in a number of classes designed to build confidence, encourage social development, and celebrate diversity in a safe and nurturing environment. The sessions include sensory classes for those who may need a more structured environment, and performance classes for those who want to develop their skills in singing, dancing and acting.

Alongside the work they do with their members, they also work within the local community delivering sensory workshops, and within hospital settings delivering palliative support to children with life limiting conditions.
