Sterling hosts International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) event
03rd Nov 2023
Sterling Pharma Solutions has hosted an event for the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) at its site in Cramlington, UK.
During the event, Jamie Wolstenhulme, Sterling’s Senior NPI Manager held a talk on ‘Rapid tech transfer of high hazard chemical processes in a highly regulated environment’. This included the exploration of:
- Tech transfer as a critical task for any business within the process industry, which carries inherent risks and the potential for delays
- The ability to swiftly, safely and securely introduce new stages of chemistry into a pharmaceutical plant, in accordance with regulations and with consistent success, to provide a significant advantage to pharmaceutical companies
- Sterling’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and how it has achieved a remarkable pace of delivering a new chemical stage to the plant every eight days in 2023, even when dealing with high hazard chemistry
- Sterling’s approach to handling highly hazardous materials and processes in a safe and compliant way, using our in house expertise and facilities
Sterling’s experts then guided professionals from the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors on a tour of its 42-acre contract development and manufacturing facility.
The ISPE UK Committee organises events each year, with the purpose of sharing pharmaceutical knowledge and best practices, whilst raising money for charity.
All proceeds from the event were presented as a cheque to the Sterling team, on behalf of its nominated charity, Daft as a Brush, a north east based charity which provides a free service to cancer patients who require transportation to and from hospital.
