The biological treatment plant at the Dudley site is integrated with the sites manufacturing facilities to provide a seamless system for the safe continuous treatment of process waste waters. All manufacturing processes are subject to environmental assessment as part of the new product introduction system to ensure that the use of the onsite treatment facility is maximised. This minimises both the environmental burden associated with the transportation and disposal of waste at alternative facilities as well as a cost effective solution for our customers
The plant is registered as an independent waste management facility and is also available on a commercial basis to the local business sector providing sustainable and cost effective alternatives to incineration and other disposal techniques.
The treatment process itself uses liquid oxygen for aerobic digestion of contaminants in the waste waters. The plant consistently achieves an extremely high standard of treatment to meet all technical parameters associated with the operating licence and is capable of treating up to 1500m3 of waste waters per day derived from a wide variety of process sources.
The treatment plant recently celebrated 20 years of continuous operation and 4 years of commercial operation.
